Η Δρ. Ελένη Γάκη είναι Επίκουρος Καθηγήτρια Ποσοτικών Μεθόδων στη Χωρική Ανάλυση στο Τμήμα Διοίκησης Επιχειρήσεων του Πανεπιστημίου Αιγαίου. Είναι πτυχιούχος του Τμήματος Διοίκησης Επιχειρήσεων του Πανεπιστημίου του Αιγαίου και κάτοχος διδακτορικού διπλώματος στην Οικονομική και την Περιφερειακή Ανάλυση από το ίδιο Τμήμα.

Τα ερευνητικά της ενδιαφέροντα εντάσσονται στο χώρο της εφαρμογής των ποσοτικών μεθοδολογιών στην περιφερειακή και οικονομική ανάπτυξη, στην επίδραση των μεταφορών και των τεχνολογιών πληροφορικής και επικοινωνιών στην περιφερειακή ανάπτυξη, στην παραμετρική και μη παραμετρική στατιστική.

Μέρος του ερευνητικού της έργου έχει δημοσιευθεί σε διεθνή ακαδημαϊκά περιοδικά και έχει παρουσιαστεί σε διεθνή συνέδρια.
